A state of the art filtration system designed to prevent water contaminants from entering your aircraft during refueling

The Facet 10 and 20 gpm (38 and 76 lpm) combination fuel monitor/filter water separators conform to Specification MIL-F-8901 and MIL-M- 81380C(AS). They are constructed of light weight aluminum and equipped with a water level sight gauge, manual air vent and drain valve. Inside each housing is a coalescer cartridge, a water separator canister and a monitor. The only variation between these two units is one of height - the 20 gpm (76 lpm) unit is 28 1/4" (718 mm.) high, while the 10 gpm (38 lpm) unit is 18 1/4" (464 mm.) high.

The Facet Fuel-Gard monitor cartridge performs three jobs to assure clean, dry fuel. It absorbs free and emulsified water to less than 2 ppm, removes ultra fine solids even when surfactants and fuel additives are present and shuts down system flow when hit with a localized slug of water. It is designed to flow from the outside to inside at a rate of 1 gallon (3.79 liters) per lineal inch with 2 micron nominal filtration.

The Facet 21 Series Fuel-Gard monitors, installed with one Fuel-Gard monitor cartridge, will continually check the entire flow of fuel, not just mere samples, for water or solids contamination. By performing three jobs, this small compact monitor assures clean, dry fuel. It absorbs free and emulsified water, removes ultra-fine solids even when surfactants and fuel additives are present, and shuts down the system flow when hit with a localized slug of water.

Both interior and exterior surfaces of the carbon steel body are epoxy coated to protect against corrosion. This sturdy, single cartridge housing is easy to maintain and requires only 2" (51 mm) base clearance for cartridge change out.

The Facet Fuel-Gard monitor cartridges meet the latest edition of the Institute of Petroleum (I.P.) Specifications and Qualification Procedures-Aviation Fuel Filter Monitors with Absorbent Type Elements.

The cartridge is made up of layered and pleated, multi-media sections with inner support shells and an outer wrap. A special water absorbent media retains water and the pleats expand. As the maximum water- holding capacity is reached, a reduction in flow occurs, indicating the cartridge should be changed. Maximum recommended operating temperature is 160°F at a maximum differential pressure of 180 psi.
